With mentors @popoffkelly and @simmsjen he has developed a steady creative practice @gccartdepartment I don’t usually post other people’s work to this IG but this was one exception, as I am particularly proud of and impressed by this work by my one and only dearly loved son. Blue Mt Blues. One of the things I love about #bluemtlakeny is that it can get kind of gloomy and sad. It’s precisely that heaviness in the atmosphere that weighs deep in my bones. A beauty that holds grief and awe in the same place; that sinks as low as the dark bottom of the lake and climbs higher than the fire tower on top of the mountain.

I’ve been wallowing through Finnegans Wake this summer (by James Joyce). A nonsensical dream of words that swim underneath what’s understood. An unknowing that sets a stage for knowing something else. Immourning Hue = grief+ hope+ summer light in the early heat of a long lazy day on a lake. 💤⏺️🔵🏳️
